Is anyone else watching the mini series on the History channel? I think Kevin Costner finally found a way to make his epic 6 hour movies & not have to worry about box office $$.
Part 1 was really good. I've read a lot about the Hatfield & McCoys before this (love oddball Southern history) and so far, it has stayed pretty much true to history.
the only thing that surprised me was the language & it being on during prime time hours. I heard more "God Damn's" & "shits" than I've ever heard on the History Channel.
Part 2 is tonight, Part 3 tomorrow night. Part 1 is being rerun early tonight before pt 2. Worth watching!

I got to see most of Part I last night. Couldn't find much else on that caught my attention. Other than some of the language, I enjoyed it. I love shows like this. So much better than the stupid reality crap.

I'll admit to absolutely loving most of Kevin Costner's historical drama movies, even if they can be LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I think the History Channel is the perfect place for his stuff. He loves history, wild west, and civil war stuff. This way he won't have to worry about box office $$
I just wish they could have not spit every 15 seconds....YUCK!

LMAO! Well that's what happens when ya chew! I agree though. There were certain parts I could've done without but that's the history of it all.

I am watching it. It is pretty good. You hear the stories, but I never really Knew the Hatfields/McCoy Full story.
And yes, the spitting is just gross! ;D

Good gawd that was brutal, but historically accurate. They did kill 3 McCoy's for the death of Ellison Hatfield.

it's always interesting to see those that can't buy a clue and realize conversation with them isn't wanted, desired, or even interesting. But then, here they are..... ;D posting on threads with folks they "claim" to dislike & not want to talk to.
things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

and they got it right historically again! Johnesy Hatfield DID marry Nancy McCoy and "abandon" Roseanna McCoy.
I like Kevin Costner's attention to historical details!

I swear the guy playing Mr Phillips, the "bounty" hunter plays the same type of role in The Borgias on Showtime. But with a British accent....

Historically, I already know what happens to Cotton, and I'm soooooooooo gonna cry tonight when it does. I already got all teary eyed when he shot the girl. Out of the whole thing, Cotton just tugs at my heart strings sooooo much.
