LMAO! Well, I'd almost pay to see that then. He's probably gonna goose him!

UGH I'm watching our local weather. It's been raining all day here and not supposed to stop until sometime tomorrow. We're supposed to get a total of three inches and have flood watches all over again. Gosh, I'm tired of rain but it's better than snow at this point.

Yeah, it rained all day here, too. Better than trudging through snow though. I hope you come through it okay.
How close to finished is the contractor?

Oh, it's just rain and I'm not by any rivers or streams, but, thanks.
Well, the drywall and cement board is up and he started the spackling. He says by the end of the weekend. hahaha I'll believe it when I see it. He's coming in the morning but his daughter has a play at school tomorrow afternoon. I'm curious if he'll come back afterwards. He worked until 10 tonight. He's not very fast.
All the tile has to get done yet, as well as the floor and then paint.

Wow, and he told you he'd have it done by Thanksgiving? He way over-estimated his ability. I hope you're paying him by the job and not the hour. I had a contractor who spent an extra week on my bathroom and held me up for an extra $500. I still don't know why I paid him. I should've told him that a deal was a deal.

Well, there were a couple of plumbing issues that sprang up so that held us up a day or two but still . . . he did tell me he had a "crew" he was going to bring and get it "knocked out". I guess his crew ran away or something because it's been just him. Last night, he worked until 11.
I am paying him by the job, definitely. I learned that from managing the complex where I live. Certain jobs can be paid by the hour but never remodeling. I don't mind paying a little extra if something unexpected pops up but . . . You shouldn't have paid the guy if it was his fault for taking longer.

We actually had a screaming match day before yesterday because for three days he'd tell me he'd be here at a certain time and then not show up for three or four hours after that. I ripped him a new one and from that point on he's been showing when he says he will.
Honestly, I'm just glad I'm not staring at studs and cinder block right now.

The contractor talked me into a tiny black and white tile for the floor. For some reason the white grout didn't come off the black tile as well as it should have and his son had to scrape it off of each tile. It took forever. I think it's because his idiot son didn't wipe the grout off quickly enough while it was wet but I wasn't in the room so I'm not sure. I thought then and I think now that it was on him. Live and learn. I was in Home Depot today and I remembered that I once wanted to flip houses. Lol, not a good job for me even when the real estate market is healthy. I'm terrible with contractors.
I should be composing my "Volunteer Instructions" but I've been procrastinating. I need to get off of here and do that so I can make copies tomorrow morning.
Talk to you tomorrow!

Dealing with contractors can be intimidating. I've learned in the last few years when to be demanding and bitchy. LOL Not easy for me but . . .
I hope you get Volunteer instructions done. Not much time left.
Have a good night, Sus. TTYL
