Hi Femme Eosman & Sun...
I think he's had bit of a near miss with something, he has lost part of his swallow tail...
I'm sort of south Eosman, but South West france....tho I am a Brit from the I>O>W> my Father was a Northerner....and yes you hang on to the frost longer than we do...we didn't use to have snow, but we do now...On the Island, I was gardening on Blue Slipper Clay, so I'm more than pleased with my Sandy soil here....It's taken a long while to get it right, but is good growing medium now days...

We have two tangerine trees in our yard.....They are very prolific and keep us well supplied with tangerine juice the year round. I literally live on the stuff.
