Snoring must be stopped not only because it's unappealing and keeps people awake all night. According to a study out of University of Wisconsin-Madison, sleep apnea -- a sleep disorder associated with heavy snoring -- is tied to an increased risk of cancer. The research indicates that people with the most severe sleep apnea are almost five times more likely to develop cancer than people without any issues. Scientists believe snoring lowers blood oxygen levels, which can trigger the growth of blood vessels that feed tumors, a process known as "angiogenesis." Dr. Javier Nieto, who led the study, said the finding "is really striking."

Next week, they'll be telling us snoring is the most healthy thing you can do. These stories go in one ear and out the other with me.

I haven't had any complaints, FS, but then again it normally takes 20 Hiroshima type explosions or a mallet in the head to wake me up normally. ;D Do you snore,FS. ? Don't lie now.

LOL I never lie! I honestly don't know if I snore or not, Dom. I'm usually sleeping and can't hear. But, my ex never complained or said anything. So, either I don't or it didn't bother him.

Maybe he snored as well,FS, and you drowned each other out. A veritable symphony perhaps ?

Could very well be, Dom. I may never know. I do know he snored. Took me awhile to get used to it. And no one else has ever complained about it if I do snore. But, I'm not a back sleeper. I tend to sleep on my side or stomach. Typically it's back sleepers who snore.

But isn't that how babies sleep,FS. Arms overhead and legs spread. They seem to do alright with it.

Husband used to snore with the decibels of a Sherman Tank. He'd spread out all over the bed, leaving me balanced on the edge, then roll over in the duvet leaving me freezing. I think married people should have separate rooms.... like the queen does.
