I've just received an e-mail from my friend who lives just outside Billericay, near-ish to Dales Farm. She said gypsies have been seen in and around the village taking photos of any green open spaces, like the football field and land around the village hall. Also the green belt land behind my friends house, which is "protected" land.
So they'll take whatever money they can get from Basildon Council to leave Dale Farm, and only move a mile or so away! I hope Basildon Council issue a caveat with the money.............i.e. Move a minimum of 500 miles!
The hairdressers and nail bars in Wickford are heartbroken because the gypsies spend a small fortune in cash in these places! All on benefits and ill-gotten gains.

You would be caught Schizo...........you're English! MY grandad on the old mans side was irish, got a very irish name, if i act like a thick mick i might pull it off. i'll have to learn about tarmacing and nick some machinery. it's an age old pikey tradition that you NEVER pay for anything if it can be stolen.

Lock her up and throw away the keys. I saw her on the telly, she did look very ill. Living in a caravan aint the healthiest place in the world for her to live in. A hospice would be better. Yet the woman wants to stay there! That don't make sense.

It makes sense once you realise she is there for the "sympathy vote". I agree she looks very ill, who, but she's had eight years to go back to Ireland, or wherever she chooses, and to live in a warm and worry-free environment. This eviction has been on-going for nearly all of the past ten years, it hasn't just come out of nowhere to take the gypsies by surprise.

Found this little article in the press today from the "BASILDON ECHO" pity it was not put out earlier
Many gypsies facing eviction from an illegally occupied site are "HOME OWNERS" It was claimed yesterday A total of 86 families around 400 people claim they will be left homeless---but a probe by the ECHO found many have empty homes in an Irish town Rathkeale, Co Limerick which they use for special occasions The evictions are expected to begin on September 19

I have seen a TV documentary on these so-called travellers, and the houses they own in Ireland. Some of the homes shown on that programme are almost palatial, so why do they resist eviction?
They have been seen taking photos of green, open spaces in a small village just the other side of Billericay, which just happens to be in the Chelmsford council area. I hope Chelmsford do what Bournemouth Council have done and have legal measures already in place to evict them. Bournemouth area is regularly visited by travellers, usually around a Bank Holiday time, and the cost of cleaning up after just a few days is astronomical.

So the cat is now out of the bag. It's revealed that one of the travellers at Dale Farm is secretly backing a multi-million pound luxury housing estate in Rathkeale, in Ireland. Many of the Dale Farm families have bought homes there, which means that they DO have somewhere to go.
Basildon Council also admit they have paid Housing Benefit claimed by some of the travellers directly to a landlord in Rathkeale. What a joke we are to tolerate this, it's fraud on a very large scale.
It amazes me that there are still those who support their, cause, like Vanessa Redgrave. She is the surely the patron saint of lost causes. They have more money than she is ever likely to have even though she always seems to be working, while they never work. Surely even she must wonder about that?

Saw this in today's papers: Some of the Travelers from the DALE FARM site in Basildon that left, have set up a new illegal camp site in a PARK some 60 miles away in Luton at Stockwood Park , and have said there are another 40 caravans/ & families on there way, The gypsies claim they are being hard done by, but Basildon Council says its offered them flats and houses,

Pod, Basildon Council offered to house them long ago and were turned because the people are travellers! Apart from that they might have to pay for their own gas and electricity, rates, rent etc. You know what I mean............the boring expenses the law-abiding community pay for. Where they are at Dale Farm they can "tap" into someone elses supply for nothing. STOP PRESS: Some of the gypsies who left Dale Farm are returning now that they have won a reprieve.

Well they seem to have galvanised a bit of support from the rich and famous......those who have houses in Los Angeles thousands of miles away.
Im sad for the families but they do have to leave or it makes a mockery out of the rest of us. I hope it can be done with the minimum of conflict.

I just watched a show on TV the other night about the Travelers. Interesting lifestyle. The homes are SO clean, but I don't like that the eldest girl is sometimes pulled out of school to take over the "Mom" role and the fact that the kids get married way too young!! They sure put on fancy weddings!

They sure put on fancy weddings! The homes are clean because the children aren't allowed inside, not even at night. They sleep underneath the caravan. The eldest girl is unlikely to be pulled out of school either, because the children at Dale Farm very rarely attend school. The school at Crays Hill has the worst attendance record in the UK. Apart from which they don't teach the things in which gypsies hope to become. proficient. Rather than send in the bailiffs it would be better to send in a Child Protection squad. Documentaries rarely get the real story of life here, only what the gypsies want you to believe.

I'm not sure they can be "evicted" as such......they are travellers they move about and take their houses with them.
If they aren't travellers then they cannot claim racism

People who mete out violence will get violence in return, the travelers had their days in court and lost. If they won't move peacefully then they would have to be removed forcefully. I think they are doing it wrong sending in the riot squad first, the travelers have the help of rent a mob and anarchists, we are all set for confrontation. Why put the police in danger of the missiles and other objects thrown at them by that mob, they should have gone in with bulldozers and squashed every obstacle that was put in their way. The law is the law, everyone must obey whether you like the law or not. They have built things without planning permission, they think they are a law unto themselves, i have news for them, they are not. They are supposed to be travelers, so get traveling, keep going though, don't park up where i live. Anyway we don't have anything worth stealing, so there is no need to stop.
