Dang, I can't figure out why those three emoticons aren't showing. They're all from my photobucket account and I've not moved or changed anything in there.

When my son was little, Christmas Eve was always a hustle and bustle for me because Santa brought everything, including the tree and decorations. So, in order to get my DS in bed early enough for me to get it all done, I would dress as an elf or have a friend do it and deliver one package to the front door, allowing my son to catch a glimpse of course, and then he would open the gift. I always told him it was Santa's helper and that he delivered the gift to say Santa was on his way and he should get to sleep so Santa would come.
Then I would get started on the tree, decorations, wrapping presents and anything else needing to be done. Needless to say I never got any sleep Christmas Eve. And now, DS carries on that tradition with his kids.
It was also what my Mom and Dad did with me and my siblings.

I enjoy the traditional Christmas with early morning mass service, then scrummy lunch and opening gifts. I love seeing what the younger members have brought me[one year it was an ash-tray, and I don't smoke] ;D Then it's out visiting the older members of the family.

The downtown is decorated with lights and wreaths. Looks pretty. I really prefer the mulitcolored lights. DOesn't seem like Christmas without them.

I like the colored lights for decorations on the house or shrubs outside but on a tree in the house I prefer white ones. However my tree is only about two feet high and is not green with needles or anything. It's just a twig type tree covered in fake snow and I have little icicles hanging from it. I should try to take a pic and post it.

Do you bake cookies? What kind? I am going to my aunt's this weekend to learn how to make my Grandma's "humbugs".

I used to do the whole cookie thing when my son was little. I didn't have a ton of disposable income so we baked cookies to give as presents. I haven't baked homemade cookies in a long time other than pizzelles, which I just started backing last year. I keep promising the grandkids that we'll make homemade cookies one of these days but we haven't gotten around to it. *my bad*
What are "humbugs"?

Humbugs are like hard candy, hard tac or something like that. Grandma just called them humbugs. She made peanut butter balls too and we are going to do those as well.

We are having our annual Christmas Party this weekend...I always love having the party, but I am ready to pass the party torch so to speak. Next yr it would be nice if some one else had the party!!!! It is a lot of work...I am blessed with a DH who helps tremendously!!!!!
