Everybody uses all of their qualities to their advantage. Tall men can use their height. Very attractive people use their physical attributes. No difference. I have no doubt that i fire on enemy to save my life or country. I do not have the physical strength of a man however and i never will and neither will other women. That IS something to consider. I cannot carry a 200lb man of a battlefield. And, i do NOT want my daughter to be eligible to be drafted, sorry.

A real potential problem is the military bending to political or social pressure to lower the standards for jobs that really need physical strength to do well. Smaller and weaker men cannot do a lot of these jobs so the majority of women can't either. However, if the requirements stay the same and a woman can pass the test, let them do it. But women who are harassed or pressured by men with authority develop a hard shell to their personality that never goes away. Mentally they are tougher than men. That's a pity because they lose part of their femininity that repels to a lot of men. The women miss out on an opportunity to meet someone who they can really love and loves them in turn. That can happen anywhere but is magnified in the military.

There are differences in male and female strength. That doesn't make a woman "less than" a man. It is just a fact of biology.

No combat patrols, Airborne Wings or Silver Stars in her profile... I know she didn't serve but i just like to invoke the name "Sarah Palin" and watch you foam at the mouth. BTW, her son does serve. So, did ya' watch? Was it as good as "eating wrath?" ;D

The difference is that they're both wrong. Sex, attractiveness, all that crap should stay in the proverbial bedroom. Using those attributes to get a job, a promotion, a raise, to get out of a speeding ticket, etc. is flagrantly dishonest. How sexy you are only applies to certain jobs, but no one should be bumped up the ladder simply because they're hotter than someone else - especially if that "someone else" is better qualified. Yes, I know it happens, but so does robbery. Both are dishonest.
Although people who fall for being played with beauty and sex are just as guilty, in my opinion. Like I said before - self discipline is the name of the game.
Countries who have allowed women to fight obviously don't consider this to be much of a problem. So far, none of those nations has revoked their policy based on this fact - or revoked their policy at all for any reason.
Ever see the show The West Wing?
There's a scene where a conference is being held between White House staffers and military officers concerning gays serving openly in the military.
This big black admiral walks in and asks the officers, "You don't think gays should serve in the military?"
"No sir," one of the officers responds. "It will disrupt the unit."
"I agree with you," the admiral answers. "Except they said the same thing about me. Blacks shouldn't serve with whites. It will disrupt the unit. And it DID disrupt the unit. But the unit got over it. Now I'm an admiral in the US Navy and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Beat THAT with a stick."
And the admiral walked out. The look of horror on those officers' faces was priceless.
It's the same with women.
Why not? What makes the life of a female any more valuable than the life of a male? What makes you think an 18 year-old boy wants to be drafted any more than an 18 year-old girl?
