Welts - Then tell me what happened in Benghazi and what the President was doing? And, so Leon Panetta is lying or what? Fuzzy, you've already been given the timeline of everything that happened in Benghazi. It was posted on this thread. You just ignored it because the facts don't match what limbaugh, alex jones, hannity, beck, fox news, and other obama hater right wingers tells you. So if welts gives you more facts you will ignore them just like you do everything else that doesn't have an obama hate spin on it.

Last week, Lindsey Graham's unrelenting line of questioning compelled Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to confirm under oath that not a single military asset was deployed to help rescue besieged US personnel in the course of a terrorist raid in Benghazi, Libya. The September 11, 2012 attack lasted nearly eight hours, during which four Americans died, including our sitting ambassador. Multiple requests for increased security in the weeks and months leading up to the massacre were denied. Urgent warnings that the Benghazi consulate couldn't withstand a sustained attack were ignored. (The compound didn't even meet minimum security standards for American diplomatic outposts anywhere in the world). An eleventh-hour cable accurately predicting an imminent attack resulted in...nothing. Explicit calls for help during the prolonged raid went unheeded amidst a flurry of "stand down" orders. One of many lingering questions regarding this outrageous episode is what our Commander-in-Chief was doing throughout the ordeal, during which America's real-time response was evidently paralyzed by chaotic indecision. Yesterday, the White House finally shed some light on this question by releasing a letter describing what President Obama was not doing as American diplomats' lives hung in the balance: President Obama didn’t make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday. “During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obama’s defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released. Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi might still be alive because he might have been able to push U.S. aid to get to the scene faster. The White House has said Mr. Obama was kept up to date on the attack by his staff, though after being alerted to the attack in a pre-scheduled afternoon meeting he never spoke again with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin E. Dempsey or then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. And there's this, which (a) re-confirms what we've known for some time, and (b) begs the question of why the administration approved false talking points for public consumption: Mr. Panetta told Congress last week that he knew immediately the attacks were a terrorist assault, though the White House downplayed that notion in the first five days after the attack. Who conceived of the false talking points and why were they employed at all, let alone for days? Why were requests for security upgrades repeatedly turned down, especially since our intelligence knew of at least ten active jihadi groups operating in Benghazi at the time? If the Commander-in-Chief wasn't in contact with his top people throughout the raid, and if he wasn't ordering the full might of the United States military into motion to protect the lives of our diplomats (which he's claimed is his "number one" priority), what was he doing over those eight hours? Our only clue is a campaign rally in Las Vegas the next day, which the president attended as scheduled -- having blown off another daily intelligence briefing, which was a habitual occurrence. That these questions have not been sufficiently answered -- or even asked, in some cases -- is less a product of masterful White House stonewalling as it is a profoundly vexing indictment of our media. But hey, "what difference does it make?" townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2013/02/15/confirmed-obama-made-no-calls-took-no-action-during-benghazi-attack-n1513609

LMAO fuzzy your first mistake in your post was the web site you copied and pasted it from. Townhall.com? ?? You might as well have gotten your BS from Alex Jones, or Glenn Beck atleast the lies would have been amusing. Townhall is much like the globe or the inquirer, the next thing you know they will post a story that Obama secretly has aliens in high positions in his cabinet. LOL. Your second mistake is in not comparing what was said to the official timeline. September 11 (Events are listed using the time in Benghazi)
9:42 p.m. -- Armed men begin their assault on the U.S. Consulate.
9:59 p.m. -- A surveillance drone is directed to fly over the U.S. compound, but it is unarmed.
10:32 p.m. -- The Office of the Secretary Defense and the Joint Staff are notified of the attack by the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon. "The information is quickly passed to Secretary Panetta and General Dempsey."
11 p.m. -- Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey meet with President Obama at the White House where they discuss the unfolding situation and how to respond. The meeting had been previously scheduled.
11:10 p.m. -- The surveillance drone arrives over the Benghazi facility.
11:30 p.m. -- All surviving U.S. personnel are evacuated from the consulate. U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and State Department computer expert Sean Smith were killed in the initial assault.
September 12
Midnight to 2 a.m. -- Panetta and other senior leaders discuss possible options for further violence if it were to break out. Panetta gives verbal orders for Marine anti-terrorist teams from Rota, Spain, to prepare to deploy to Tripoli and Benghazi. Panetta also orders a special operations force team training in Croatia and an additional special operations force team in the United States to prepare to deploy to a staging base in southern Italy.
1:30 a.m. -- A six-man security team from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli arrives in Benghazi.
2:39 a.m. to 2:53 a.m. -- The National Military Command Center gives formal authorization for the deployment of the two special operations force teams from Croatia and the United States.
5:15 a.m. -- Attackers launch assault on a second U.S. facility in Benghazi. Two former U.S. Navy SEALs acting as security contractors are killed. They are identified as Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.
6:05 a.m. -- A C-17 aircraft in Germany is told to prepare to deploy to Libya to evacuate the consulate personnel.
7:40 a.m. -- The first wave of Americans are evacuated to Tripoli via airplane.
10 a.m. -- A second group, including those killed in the attack, are flown to Tripoli.
2:15 p.m. -- The C-17 departs from Germany for the flight to Tripoli.
7:17 p.m. -- The C-17 leaves Tripoli with the American consulate personnel and the bodies of Stevens, Smith, Woods and Doherty.
7:57 p.m. -- The U.S. special operations force team based in Croatia arrives at a staging base in Italy.
8:56 p.m. -- One of the Marine anti-terrorist teams from Spain arrives in Tripoli.
9:28 p.m. -- The U.S.-based special operations force team arrives at its staging base in Italy. The attack began at 9:42, Panetta and the Joint Chiefs werent notified until 10:32pm. Nobody meets with or even notifies Obama until 11pm. The drone which had already been dispatched arrived at 11:10. By 11:30 all remaining US personnel were evacutated from the area. So between 11pm when Obama was notified, it only took an additional 30 minutes to evac everyone else to safety. During that time 2 people were killed the ambassador, and the state dept computer expert. They were killed in the initial assault long before Pannetta and even longer before Obama was notified. By the time the second assault happened military personnel were already in the process of being dispatched according to the timeline. But in the second assault the only 2 other people to die were the former seal security men. No one else lost their lives. Those are the facts. Your copied and pasted article is so full of holes its laughable. Once again, you are relying on the fringe neocon right winger sites for your info, and as usual your articles are full of half truths, exaggerations in total BS. Infact everything in that article you posted from the townhall is almost verbatim the very same thing from a transcript of one of Limbaugh's radio broadcasts. As I said before the timeline is the "only" conclusive evidence of that events that occurred and when you take into account that the ambassador and the state dept computer expert died almost immediately when the assault began there was no way to save them. COuple that with the fact that every other american was safely evacuated from there during that first assault without anyone else being killed, then further couple that with the fact that once the second assault began only 2 security men were killed with no one else being killed in that second assault, you get a very clear picture that not only was our administration on the ball, but they handled it very efficiently and very quickly. All of that carnage and only 4 people lost there lives, 2 at the very beginning that were impossible to save, and 2 security men helping with the evac. Out of all of those people and only 4 people died, that is damn good work because a lot of other people were saved and got out alive and well. As I said the only problems in the whole mess were that Obama was not notified immediately, and that it was the repos that cut funding for the additional security that should have been in place there that would have prevented the only 4 deaths that occurred. So sorry fuzzy, you and all the other right wingers that try and say this mess was a failure on Obama's part are not only wrong, but are just trying manufacture some BS to complain about him with.
