I like to page turn...I refuse to use a Kindle. I just like the books...real ones. Same here, mox! Like they say 'You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl'. I guess in this case it would mean: 'You can take the libraries away, but you can't force me to use a kindle!' LOL...corny, eh? ;D

Me too, Mox! There's nothing like the smell of a book and turning the pages in anticipation.

You guys are old school. The next generation will have no need of them.

I hate seeing families out for dinner and not speaking to each other because they are ALL texting. My kids were NEVER allowed to do that during family time. I hardly use a cell, except in emergencies or for a very important reason.

I don't allow texting or use of any of the devices unless it's an emergency. They know the rule when Nanny's around. ;D

Someone told me they left a sub message on my cell the other day and I said that they need to ONLY call my land line or I won't get the message. I tell EVERYONE to call my land line! I rarely even look at my cell messages...

My cell is for the business so I have to check it and have it with me. I always listen to the messages but if I'm with the kids, and it's not an emergency, I return the call after the kids have gone or the next day!

I don't think library will go extinct.
For one, although there are kindles, you still can't get the books you want for free.
The library has any book you want, you just have to register, get your free card, and borrow your free book for a week or so. It's great for kids, and some adults as well.
I have a kindle and I still go to the library. I'd go broke reading everything I want to read on a kindle. Except for one of my favorite authors cannot always be found at the library. So I do have to pay for her books on my kindle.

Beags, at our library here, if they don't have a title you want they can get it for you. You'll just have to wait for it.

I love our little dinky town library so much that I volunteer there during book drives. For all the dinky little towns around Northern Georgia they put in a book share system. If my library doesn't have it, they will request it from another branch & send it over. When I'm done, it'll stay in our library unless it's shared out again.
