 I totally agree, @mox ! I'm never doing it again. Companionship maybe, marriage or living with the opposite sex, not gonna happen again! I have found I'm far too independent for my own good I guess and most men, in this geographical area anyway, can't deal with an independent woman.
Perhaps I should move?  Nah, been there, done that. I'll stay put and enjoy my life as it is. I would think most men would LOVE an independent woman...one that isn't clingy and has to rely on them for anything/everything. We should poll the men in a separate thread here. I'd be curious to know their thoughts on that. I don't think being clingy and independent are mutually exclusive. I love my hugs and cuddles and get my fair share yet I am independent to the extent I feel like I am a single mother. I am clingy as my star sign predicts. |

Loneliness leads to depression and mental illnesses compared to obesity which leads to physical illnesses. I think it is easy to lose weight than to leave the fields of loneliness.

To me, clingy is more of a negative thing...too dependent on someone else for just about everything...that would get old fast. JMO |

I suppose it is how one perceives the word clingy. Being clingy is being dependent "emotionally". Perhaps it can become deadly if not controlled.

I am independent in sense of finance and doing my day to day tasks. Never do I seek for support there. But what I do like doing is attaching to my husband like glue. So he calls me clingy. That is me finding his body heat pleasing.

There are a lot of people in high, and responsible positions, who have learnt to control their schizophrenic tendencies - from Professors to leaders in other fields. A lot of people in the field of the arts - painters, musicians, acting profession are, or have suspected to have been, schizophrenics, based on their work and lives. And some infamous people too. Me? I'm lucky. Never suffered from schizophrenia. Though many is the time I've been likened to the hat wearing character in 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. Hang on. I've got work to do. I've got a nude woman to paint. She wants a panoramic view painted on her... well never mind.  |

Please send Idris Elba this way though. Idris Elba? I had to look him up. I thought it was a fizzy drink. Afraid I'm not much into films - unless they are SciFi or Comedies. I loved the Harry Potter films. Saw them all at the cinema with my sons as they grew up. Unfortunately my sons grew up - I never did. The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings - fine. Horror films made me laugh so much I had to give them up. Zombie films are just taken from real life. The number of young people wandering around using mobile phones, or listening to music with earplugs in, oblivious of anything else, is quite common here. Tried Romance twice but that didn't work out. In fact, I advertised locally for a wife a while ago, but only got 15 replies from men wanting me to take theirs. Really they must think I'm daft. I can tell a photoshopped picture a mile off.  I'll stick to reading, listening to music and studying - not forgetting soccer on TV. Unless you know a 36 year old slim redheaded woman who......... Nah. Never mind |
