This is a truth that I've learned to accept. It is impossible to not leave a mark in the universe for your existence already is a mark. The question isn't, "What kind of mark can I leave in this world before I die?", but, "How large of a mark can I make before I die?" That may sound like the mantra of a serial killer or school shooter, but this is true for everybody.
💡 EXPERIMENT
The next time someone asks you for directions to somewhere or asks where a particular room or building is within a small area. After you comply with assisting this person with the knowledge that you know or apologize for the knowledge that you don't know. Take a moment to examine just how your brief time with this person affected the course of events for the universe. Try to imagine how things would differ had you not engaged with the person. They would have most likely asked someone else or wandered the area until they found what they are looking for and yes, these events could still transpire without your intervention. However, you still intervened and change the course of events for the universe. We all leave a mark.
🤔 SKEPTISM
What if the course of events is set in stone and I was supposed to intervene?
If this is ever proven to be true then you could forget everything that is mentioned here for regardless of whatever it is you are supposed to do in life then that is the will of the universe henceforth you are not the master of your own destiny. You are only a tool of the universe going about its natural cycle. You are not special and therefore if you are the biggest loser then you shall always be the biggest loser. But this isn't exactly a scientifically proven statement so its best not to think of such things.

My husband believes in making his or our mark through generous donations. He wants to do something "big".

The course of history can be changed in the blink of an eye.
