Can't say that I have any favorite "treats" that are limited to holidays. I like cake and pie and ice cream and general stuff... but nothing "holiday specific".

When we were children it was Christmas Pudding, only because our mother would put in it a silver sixpence and a silver three pence piece. You would be surprises what treaty's you could buy with a three pence piece in a Sweet shop, candy to you people over the pond. Mind we had to eat our Christmas pud with care, didn't want to swallow a silver coin and they were tiny. Just saying.

Fruit cake with brandy soaked in covered with marzipan and hard icing, and stollen, can only get that around this time of the year. Then anything else goes i've got a gut like a refuse tip it will take in anything

I like a good meringue, not the marshmallowy stuff they have been trying to pass off as meringue.
I might have to make some pizzelles next week.
I am way overdue for pierogis but that will have to wait.
There are no holiday specific foods anymore.

The sautéed ones sound good, but what’s inside?

The sautéed ones sound good, but what’s inside? They now have a variety of "innards" but the classic ones are mashed potatoes and cheese.

The sautéed ones sound good, but what’s inside? Pierogis are similar to ravioli except the fillings and size are different. Or potstickers. They are all dumplings of some kind with a pasta like exterior. I make the majority of mine with potatoes, cream cheese and farmers cheese. Boil them and then saute in butter and onions. I have done crab and potato mushrooms sauerkraut (do not like these but others do) blueberry nutella chocolate peanut butter cheesesteak ground meat

A Polish dish, right? worked in a small Ukrainian/catholic school for a while. every friday morning the neighborhood ladies was in the school kitchen before sun up making those perfect pasta pockets filled with potatoes... and other yummy stuff. people in the neighborhood would put in orders for the,... plain potatoes, potatoes & cheese, onions... maybe a few other options. that's what lunch would be at school every friday.
