i'd volunteer to help but since ORIF (2.5 years ago) can easily take 15-30 minutes jut to thread sewing machine.  |

You’ve got me beat, lartiste! My sewing machine is sitting collecting dust. I am probably going to sell it soon. I have barely used it as I only sew by hand...mending, hems, etc. and I don’t even do much of that anymore.

i hate hand sewing! will sew buttons on by machine whenever possible!
had a serger but got rid of it cuz it was just too difficult to thread with only one good hand. if i ever come across one that threads itself and doesn't cost "arm & leg" just might splurge. it makes such FAST work of any sewing!

I agree that a machine is much faster but the look of something hand sewn is much more appealing to me.

Well, one panel is complete. lol I still have five more to do. UGH! We don't have curtains, just the piece across the top. Forgot what it's called. We have a type of insulated shutter to use on the inside at night when it's cold. We also use them during the day when it's hot in the summer. You're 63 ? So am I. Turning 64 this coming July. |

It's called a valance. I have two of those to make for the dining room.
