back in November, there were a few NE PA ski areas fighting for bragging rights to open up by thanksgiving. that NEVER happens. if a ski area in Poconos opens by mid-December they consider themselves very lucky. people making a living in outdoor, winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, etc) must be suicidal.
just came off a nice LONG weekend. we were doing our anti-snow dance cuz a snow day would have meant days of no school would be lost. as we head to march, i'll be doing a snow dance again. not a single day off in the entire month! if we do have a snow day, i won't get paid (until we make it up).
we have a fairly even 4 seasons in this part of the world. summer/winter are a tad longer than spring/fall.
have YOU had winter in your neck of the woods?

Yes we have.
It's been pretty much an average winter for our area.
For the next couple of weeks it's forecast to be a bit below average temp-wise.

I don't mind having a milder winter except I would like it to freeze long enough to kill of the extra bugs and things that could make summer miserable.

it can never get cold enough to kill off NJ's unofficial "state insect"... damn mosquitoes!
we'll be turning the clocks forward in less than 3 weeks. have no money for any kind of "travel" when spring break rolls around in april. would love snow day (or even 2), even though that would mean losing spring break days.

The mosquito is the state insect in WI too! We have had a great winter here. I don’t think the schools have had any snow days around here, maybe just a late start...nothing like last year! I have no complaints about this winter, it’s been fantastic! If only future ones could be like this... I am glad we have a fireplace though as that helps take the edge off of the few bitter cold days we have had. If you have a stocked fridge, books, movies, and music, and no place you have to be, winter here isn’t bad. I am looking forward to the spring though when things start blooming again and you can get outside.

Very quiet in here lately, wonder if it because of the Coronavirus, you have no fear being on hear so long has you wash your hands first and then when you close down. They are now calling it a pandemic, but doesn't mean people have to panic, it will get you anyway if it wants to. Anyway it will start getting warmer soon, ( the weather I mean ) and they say heat kills it off, it prefers the cold to survive. So I suppose the hotter it gets the better the people will feel. Just saying.
