Why do men feel they can still try to intimidate women?

I read and express my opinions of local government, etc.  I received an email today from a man who seems to think he can tell me how to think.  I set him straight.  I was diplomatic about it, but I really wanted to tell him to GO BLOW HIMSELF!!  I can’t believe in this day and age that men still think they have the upper hand and women need to take a back seat.
