I will have to pipe in with my sexist comment. There is a vast difference between a male intimidating a female than vice versa. 99% of men can probably overpow and physically control and dominate a female. Sorry but the reality is that we do not match up in that type of physicality. The threat of physical violence is a the fear of most women in these situations. And, yes, there are a few women that can bee itch slap a man around, but not many. So, big difference in my humble opinion.

Hello Spells,
I think you're referring to 'Asian' families rather than 'Muslim' families in the UK - we can have Muslims and non-Muslims here. In that case, I do agree that 'favouritism' leans towards the males in some/most Asian families.
I know of few cases/situations where one may face gender discrimination but this is the law we're talking about and that too when equality is preached amongst the sexes.
Hello Gagafritz,
I agree with your generalisation but women are not less powerful - they channel their aggression using different means. Emotional abuse for instance? If not then why not chop off your man's penis?

How absurd is that. Why collect stats and figures and keep records when common sense isn't applied later on in law-making
You said it on page one Starlight i was agreeing with you
