Hmmm...I have to tally. 250gb Xbox $299. Xbox accessories such as Turtle Beach head set, texting set, etc about $300. Android phone for younger son $200 (older son not doing well in school so no "smart phone for him", so sad too bad). Stereo thingy to attach ipod too $50. American Girl doll $120, Xbox Live one year membership x2 $100. Season 1 DVD of Rizzoli and Isles $29. Assorted artsy crafty things for my daughter $100.

Zero this year...But I have faith that nextyear will be better. I'm glad my kids have their health and will be getting plenty and surrounded by love. Would love to be there. but I will be in spirit.

Wow, you guys are very generous with your kids and grandkids. My grandma used to send each of her grandchildren two dollars in a Christmas card. Granted, it was the dark ages, but, still...
femme, I don't mean to be nosy but why are you not with your children? Feel free to tell me to mind my own business if you prefer.

I gave small presents to my brother and s-i-l who don't believe in giving gifts. Friends and neighbors got Michael Buble Christmas CD's, really nice enamel ornaments or birdseed Christmas bells. The kids in foster care got books, a good basketball, a play tent and a cash contribution for gift cards for the teens. And I gave myself an absolutely decadent trip to NYC! ;D

I just looked at my receipts for December and I made a mistake on the amount. It's not $225.05 but $225.50....

For that amount, a better pair of GLASSES may have been a wise investment. ;D

I just saw that they have a new American Girl doll with a description that includes that she has problems with reading comprehension. I think it is great that they are doing that...helps some with their own self-esteem when they can get a doll who has the same issues. IMO

I wonder if they will soon have a doll with Asperger's, ADD/ADHD, etc.?

A diabetic doll would be a good idea too...with insulin, a testing device...lots of Juvenile Diabetes in children out there.

That is a very private question to be asking sus...I prefer not to answer it for the wolves that love to judge on here, ok? But rest assured I am a good Mom and love my kids no matter what.

That's okay, femme. I understand. I'm careful what I post as well.
moxie, I'm sorry but that just sounds like a way to sell parents another very expensive American Girl doll. They could do a book about the reading comprehension problems or any other disability without attaching it to a particular doll.
