www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16478954Finished by 2026, this new rail service will go from London to Birmingham in a nifty 49 minutes! Travelling at speeds over 215 mph. It will then be extended further afterwards to Manchester, Newcastle, then onto Scotland to Edinburgh and Glasgow by the 2030s. Yay or nay? Locals sure aren't happy but the rest of the country is that's for sure! To get from London to Glasgow the trip will take just 3 hours, half of what it normally takes.

Have you noticed ---We have to pull our horns in and all be very frugal--But the Gov/ is spending money like a loony, why is it all down to us not to have a life but the powers that be spend thousands on Taxi Cabs actually its £140 .000 by the dept of transport. ALSO THE M.o.d. HAS SPENT £5 Billion on fighter jets, that cannot land on Aircraft Carriers , because of the position of the arresting hook underneath (its much to close to the landing gear,) and they wont be able to fire the missiles we want to put on them. Now they might have to be scrapped. Makes you wonder why we sold our GOOD OLE HARRIER`s to America for peanuts just so they could up-date them Anyway not to worry cos we aint got an aircraft carrier for them to land on anyway

I want to know where the contracts are going to go
Engines and rolling stock from, let's see, China, Spain, France, Germany (almost certainly) as all have over 200 mph rail systems I do not mention Japan in the list, as the Hitachi Train ASSEMBLY factory is being built at Northallerton. YUP folks, we just assemble hornby kits here nowadays! Then there is the electrics for signals, radio communication, and lighting stations, which brings us to - Building stations Then the maintenance of that lot
How many BRITISH companies are going to be ALLOWED to construct this line?
"We do not build tankers in Britain, which is why the new RFA contract has gone to Taiwan" Quote MOD spokesperson! Iffin we cannae build ships, we dinnae build railways either do we?
