IIF- -You live in a gorgeous part of the country for sure!!
Yes ma'am, I certainly do! I'd love to come to your part of the country sometime. Last time I was in Buffalo and Syracuse, there was a great deal of snow. I'd like to see Niagara Falls in summer or around this time of year.

Ah yes, Buffalo and snow. That good ole lake effect with Buffalo sitting right there at the end of Lake Erie. It does get whacked with the white stuff. Niagara Falls is awesome and at night they shine colored lights on the waterfalls that is really specatcular. I've been to the Falls twice - once with my parents when I was in my early teens and once with my then husband and sons.

" Beach Vulture " I would like to think this turkey vulture was enjoying a day at the beach, but, I know at this Lake Ontario shoreline it's the dead fish nearby that's the attraction. Photo by Laurie Dirkx, " Common Sulfer " Among the tall shore grasses of Lake Ontario in Summerville was this common sulfur butterfly nourishing on a wildflower. Photo by Laurie Dirkx, " Sand Hill Cranes " Sand Hill Cranes, which are making a comeback locally, stroll along Rt. 89 in Savannah. " Kitten in the Mums " This blue-eyed Siamesae kitten was seen amongst the new autumn mums at Willow Creek Greenhouse in Geneva along County Rd. 6. Photo by Rachel Burkholder. " Rising With The Sun " This hot air balloon was hovering above the waters of VanCleef Lake in downtown Seneca Falls at daybreak. Photo by Joanne Elliott. " Highbush Cranberry " The lustrous fruit of this highbush cranberry is closely related to the honeysuckle rather than it being a true cranberry. It is a multipurpose shrub that is edible to both humans and animals and has medicinal properties. Photo taken in Ontario by Laurie Dirkx,

About 10 days prior to that my father (a licensed bird-bander) had banded them. I had not seen hide nor feather of them since, till the cool weather kicked in. To send them on their way into migration I fed them mealworms, as they're scouting for in this image. You can see the bands on their left legs. Photo by Laurie Dirkx,
