No, no, no! to stomach stapling. I don't know about liposuction but I think that stomach stapling has very bad side effects in exchange for rare good outcomes. I do have to admit that our musical director at church had it done and it seems to have worked well for him but he was in the 300 lb range so his health required something more invasive. You're just barely fluffy.

Sus you're probably right. The problem with stomach stapling, for me, would be absorption of "B" vitamins - already a problem for my genetics.
I'm just so darn frustrated.
I walked down to the beach yesterday and huffed & puffed the entire way there and back. That is ridiculous. I just can't believe how fast my fitness level disappears when I don't work out.
Good morning BTW!

Good morning, Sweetie!
Your conditioning comes back, too, with a little effort. Hugh Jackman was on Leno last night talking about how he grew from a 170 lb weakling to the 200 lb hunk (my word) that he is now. Just some time in the gym and he's turned into an amazing specimen. Someday, we'll get the impetus to attack the gym on a regular basis.

Sus does it every amaze you how actors can gain and drop weight for movies? Some of them are very dramatic with it. I always wonder if they have access to certain "help" that most people don't.

SFM yes, they have money of course they have access to all kinds of help. Personal trainers to drop the weight after gaining it. Gaining it fast is easy . . . that's what fast food restaurants are for. Losing it fast involves lot of exercise and a starvation diet. (and we wonder why actors have problems with their weight . . . the things they will do to get a lead) Their problems with maintaining a healthy weight usually comes after they are done with acting. You mess up your metabolism like that and it does a number on your system . . . just ask any high school kid who was under the old rules of wrestling . . . they will tell you how bad they messed up their health for that one sport. Notice I said the old system . . . . there are new rules put in place now that protects the kids from doing that to their bodies.

SFM please do not do the surgery .. . it is much better if you can lose it on your own. I know many people who have had the surgeries and they have nothing but problems. Eventually they do gain all the weight back. . . the staples come out or pop out. (of course that is usually due to the fact that they could not keep to the diet given) They may start off well with the new diet, but eventually they go back to their old habits (as it is hard to change) and that's when the problem comes in.
It's been my experience . . .. and I know people are going to get angry with this . .. I'm not good with words . .. I'm a very blunt person . . . . BUT if you don't have the self control to take care of your weight naturally, you won't have the self control to maintain the diet for a prolonged period of time after the surgery either. I have met very few people who have. Those who have do not have a problem afterwards. BUT most that I have met, cannot keep to the rules . .. and within five years afterwards they are worse off than they were before they went in.
NOW I'm NOT saying that you are one of those people who have no self control. i'm just saying old habits die hard . . . if you feel you can do it, you can try it.
It helps if you know your surgeon also. As with any surgery if the surgeon is not a good one . . . . it is bad news afterwards. Trust me, when it comes to your digestive system . . you don't want a horrible surgeon . .. it will result in a lifelong problem.
Losing weight fast is not worth it. Changing your way of life slowly to lose it is worth it. Self esteem and self worth go a long way also. Who cares what other's think . . . it only matters what you think.
(again, most statements here are in general and not directed only to sfm . . . except for the one paragraph that starts with her initials)

Good morning everyone, and hello Beags! How are you? Are you back to P90 or still working too much for it? Good thoughts and I actually agree with you on the stomach stapling. I think most people are overweight for reasons they don't understand, and many times those interventions are a temporary fix. I do think it can be worth it if you are *significantly* overweight, to the point your health is in imminent danger. But when you're mildly overweight (me - about 20 lbs past where I want to be) the risk does not outweigh the benefit imho. I just get frustrated and start ranting. I really want to get back to P90, but it's tough with the holidays coming. I need my energy.

LOL sfm, I'm trying to figure out where to work p90 into my schedule. it would be helpful if it wasn't so split up. I could do it, but it would require two showers a day about 3 days a week. I'm not sure our budget can afford that on the water bill. On my second job, you get full of black dirt just standing still. You need a shower when you are done with it.
I may just bite that bullet anyway. I haven't lost any weight since I've stopped, and I haven't gained any either. So I'm doing fine for now. I would like to stay toned though, and I can see that starting to slip. That and it was helping my foot with movement. That is starting to stiffen. So I do need to get back to it.

ya, but my encouragement will be sporadic. I don't think the computer will be fixed until the new year now.
I'm probably going to quit my second job on Monday, and that will give me the time to start that program again.
I can get more respect at a whore house, so I decided to give my notice. Job 1 however, is doing great, love it there.

man, I love this workout stuff. I just went out and bought new pants for work. I knew the old ones were a little bit big, but they finally worn out and got a hole in the knees, and so I HAD to buy new ones. (did I mention how much I hate shopping for myself?) So I bought myself 2 new pairs of pants.
I found out that I lost 4 sizes in less than a year. I can't remember if I was ever in a size 5, but I am now. Life is great. Now I just need to get new bras, or stuff the old ones. lol I know, TMI. Ok.

So, I went to the health food store for black strap molasses and remembered to look for buckwheat pancake mix. He didn't have that but had buckwheat flour. Most of the recipes required all purpose flour which I don't have but I finally found a recipe that doesn't. I thought I had everything I needed until I looked at my can of baking powder which has a date of 1994 on it. I think I should get some fresh baking powder...
