Would anyone like to discuss fitness and nutrition? For my regular friends, I've backed off P90X and I'm getting ready to start Jillian Michael's "30 Day Shred." That's me butting my head against the wall. P90 is great - I just don't want to work out at that level right now.

Gee, what a great irony that I would carry the banner for "Fitness & Nutrition."

Let me know how you like it...I bought the "Boot Camp." It's still in the wrap. lol I am working on riding my bike, but it has been so hot and humid here. Cooling off tomorrow, I think.

I've just cut back everything I eat & hired a PT to help me with strength training!! I've found that working out is helping me get out of my hole with depression. I'm not completely there but I am finding out that I am losing inches around my body that helps my clothes fit looser!!!

Whole grain products, lean protein and exercise! I agree on whole grain except for wheat which messes with me for some reason (along with most of my family) . . . Good to see you on the thread II! Are you still doing your treadmill? I'm thinking of getting an elliptical.

I'm not a fan of Jillian Michaels' personality but she's undeniably fit. I hope it works for you, SFM. I've lost several pounds since I went off of a medication that was stimulating my appetite. Now, I have to start eating more fruit especially since so much is in season.

Hi Mom, treadmill will be put to use again this winter. In Summer, I can get outside and walk the little dog. After I get this shoulder fixed, I can start with dumbbells again.

dogs are a great reason for getting exercise. I used to enjoy going for long walks (without animal), but unfortunately, everything seems to be conspiring to make me fairly sedentary. I can't walk without the cane and after more the 10-15 min on my feet, they begin to really hurt (diabetic neuropathy).

IIF Have you scheduled getting your shoulder fixed uet? I have an appointment with the orthopedist in a couple weeks who will probably tell me the same thing my primary care Dr. told me, that I have a torn rotator cuff. I imagine that the orthopedist will then put a surgery order in and I'll be notified when it will be.

I saw her book recommended by a bunch of moms struggling to lose weight. It *is* absolutely fascinating. She focuses very heavily on hormones and toxins in our environment (a topic right up my alley). She also cautions against processed foods (another of my fave topics). Her point is that we shouldn't have to work as hard as we are to lose weight. And speaking of drugs - she talks about that too! She mentions that they can make weight loss much more difficult. Congrats on dropping some lbs. I think they came my direction though!

Hey - off topic - I didn't get a chance yet to check over on the other boards and look for the posters you mentioned. Will check it out later. Gotta get some work done here.
