LOL its the hardest thing you will ever do. I quit when they went to a dollar a pack. All I can tell you is I was once addicted to morphine, (major injury). Quiting smoking was 10x as hard . Good luck.

Wow, an addiction to morphine doesn't compare to cigs? I'm glad you're no longer addicted to either. I promised myself I would quit when they hit $2 / pack. Ha! I'm trying my best to busy myself when I'm having a craving. And I am taking Chantix, which is helping. But, the last thing I want to do is start eating more. LOL

Stopping smoking is easy, just avoid matches and lighters, a good incentive though is to have more money in your purse or pocket. Smoking is like burning money, and leaves you smelling like an ash tray as well. I stopped in 1974, a 40 a day man, what helped me to stop was a sweet we called a gob stopper, it would last for ages. One draw back, i put on a stone in weight, within two years i was back to my fighting weight, fitter, fresher, and better tempered. Just one more draw back, people who have stopped smoking are the biggest complainer of people who smoke, we find the smell offensive.

I think you need motivation and a strong will power to quit an addiction.

Yep, that's very true, Star. I'm motivated to have better health and more money in my pocket! And, I've always been a strong-willed individual but this one's been a toughie! Today is my first smoke-free day with the Chantix!

Well, I've been having one or two cigarettes a day for a few weeks now. I think it's time to just stop. I'm hoping by the end of April I will be smoke free!
