A neighbor did all her good glasses and crystal in the dishwasher the other day. Among the glasses were some wine glasses, her favorites. Before doing them in the dishwasher, she loaded a pack of cascade instead of Jet Dry, which is usually what she uses to prevent streaking. But, since she uses Cascade for detergent in the dishwasher, she thought the new Cascade to prevent streaking would be great.
Well, upon unloading the dishwasher after completion, she noticed her favorite wine glasses were all cloudy. None of the other glasses were; just these. We've tried everything to eliminate the cloudiness but to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?

If your neighbour has still got the reciept for the glasses tell her take them back to the store. Telling the store clerk, that when she took the glasses out of the box they were already cloudy. Get a whole new set.

I've tried my own dish-washing liquid, a brillo pad very lightly, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, and just now the Mr. Clean Magic Sponge and nothing!
The glasses feel like they have a film on them and it's the strangest thing because the cloudiness is only on the inside of the glass because if you wet the outside the cloudiness is still there. If you wet the inside, it disappears . . . until it dries. Then they're cloudy again.

If they are insured. Smash them and blame the cat.

LOL While they're crystal, they're not that expensive. I doubt they're insured.

If so, don't answer the door and take the phone off the hook.. Maybe you will find a cheap set of glasses in a thrift store..

They're not my glasses; they're hers and she's the one who put them through the dishwasher and ruined them; not me.
