I paid $300 for front row tickets in the lower level near the stage. The concert is in March. I will report back with the details. I have 3 other peeps going with me.

Do you think that is a lot of money? How much should a concert cost? She puts on an entire show like a broadway show with sets, costumes, cast of dancers, and on and on.

When I saw the Eagles a year or so ago tickets were around $150. I thought that was outrageous but it was the Eagles so . . . I paid it. I love the Eagles.
When I first started going to concerts, Chicago was my first some 40+ years ago, tickets went for less than $20

Steamboat (a destination ski resort) has free concerts year round or they cost about $20 if they are in the Strings in the Mountains venue. (A venue that features mostly classical musicians along with acts like Asleep at the Wheel, Subdudes, Sister Sparrow, etc.) I was a sound technician in the '70s and got paid to work shows but before that, anything more than $10 was considered pretty outrageous. (I know, over 40 years ago) As an example, The Allman Brothers played at The University of Missouri for $2.50. Times have changed though. I still have friends in the biz, in Nashville, one who is Reba's lighting director and she was charging $250 a ticket at the Las Vegas Hilton some 15 years ago. If you have the money and want to see the show, go for it!

I priced Streisand tickets for a concert this year and the cheap seats were $500. Needless to say, as much as I'd love to see her, I passed.

Why did you pass FS? Why not go? If she truly is a fave of yours, when are you really going to ever get the opportunity again? There are some singers and bands i wish i would have taken the time to see. I really wish i could have seen Blondie in concert. She is one of my faves. I think she still does some limited touring but nowhere nearby. I would much, much rather pay good money for a LIVE show than go to the movies or spend money on more 'stuff" i don't need.

With Streisand, there probably won't be another chance. I came really close to pushing the buy ticket. One of her venues was Philly. I just couldn't justify it my mind right now. Too many other financial obligations. I waited a long time to get to hear the Eagles. I swore I'd never spend as much as I did for any concert but it was the Eagles!!! And what a show they put on!
I know eventually I'll kick myself for not going to see Streisand but honestly, there aren't any of my friends who could afford that to join me so . . .

I would love to see Saltimbanco, by the Cirque du Soleil. It's playing its farewell show right here in their home town. They're retiring the show after this. I would kill to be able to go, but tickets are about $200. I just can't do it right now. In the past month alone, I've spent $1600 in car repairs and I still need to do Christmas shopping.
