Hello cvor (I recognise your nom de plume), "scientific", if you like or metaphysical, metaphorical, philosophical, poetic, literary, literal, Biblical, Koranic, Talmudic or whatever; I'm happy do discuss any 'evidence' in good humour. Go well. PS Please excuse my spelling - I'm English (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.  ). I'm only interested in verifiable evidence that is supported by demonstrated fact...scientific. this is the same form of evidence that is utilized for determining the accuracy of a variety of assertions that most people of faith use as well..their religion aside. any other form of evidence is completly arbitrary and I'll be more than happy to illustrate this as people provide examples. I'll be more than happy to discuss how alleged holy books are not sufficient scientific evidence as well. If this discussion is about evidence, I will analyze and dissect anything submitted and draw upon analogies to illustrate if something doesn't hold up. If we are talking about non scientific evidence then I have no interest...since that is a term that describes any random thing that influences belief in any one person.....for example if someone said finding their keys is evidence of god. It may be evidence to that person but shall the entire world drop what they are doing and believe in god......as such a thing is not compelling and lacks any merit towards being true. Arbitrary personal influence is not really something to debate rather it is just a story to share. I want to know how they deduced the assertion and how it can be tested and if it has merit. If this man asserted god doesn't exist...which is a perfectly viable view...how did people arrive at it? Why has the belief in it been so fervent all these years. Answering these questions will provide valuable insight into our collective psyche. So ..shall we begin? My first question is what is god...because we should clearly define terms before discussing. |

I got a mail from Marco-Lucco and a link .. what i thought had happened is that one of us had started a board. To that effect i made a quip abut one of toshes nicknames and his stance on god when i first came in. But later i realized it was an established forum.

cvor, as I recall, was PoD's tutor. He was the only person that PoD didn't call an imbecile, which rather places him very close to God. I am friends with pod. I am friends with many types of people..people that can drop the act and show some degree of their true self. Can you elaborate on what you mean by me being a tutor? Are you implying something about me and if so feel free to speak your mind. Please...go into detail so I am not left to think if this is a form of insult. Also, your facts are off....there were many others that didn't call him names. I can name them if you like. Would you like me to? If there is a god I don't think he has any more of a problem with pod than he does with most other people. What are your thoughts on that? |
