I LOVE the big cats, especially the tigers . . . . I really like the white tigers. I don't know why, I just find them beautiful.

Today's Daily Action: Protect Health Care for Our Most Vulnerable Americans In the past month, Medicare and Medicaid have faced threats of severe cutbacks, and the millions of people who count on these programs now have their health care on the line. Here's Sandra's story: "I prayed everyday that I'd stay healthy enough until I turned 65 and could get on Medicare. But my luck ran out in 2003 when I developed multiple chronic illnesses. I was fortunate to be eligible for Medicaid due to my disabilities. This allowed me to go to doctors for the first time in years. During one of the exams a doctor discovered that I had uterine cancer. Medicaid provided all the care I needed. Four years later, I'm cancer free. But I keep hearing that Medicaid and Medicare might be cut back. I'll be in trouble if that happens, because I'm barely making ends meet. Even coffee is a luxury item now." Which Americans are you going to stand up for -- luxury corporate jet owners, or those that think luxury means being able to afford a cup of coffee? www.care2.com/dailyaction/homepage.html

Tne Nature Conservancy Thank you! Your click saved 7.4 sq. ft. of rainforest today. Come back tomorrow to click; log in to track your impact.
Together we've saved 9,347.2 acres of rainforest
So far, 1,487,094 people have saved 9,347.2 acres of rainforest Wild and wondrous, rainforests extend from as far as Alaska and Canada to Latin America, Asia and Africa. They nurture thousands of plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth and provide life's essentials such as our medicines, food and water. Yet more than half of Earth's original rainforests have been destroyed, victims of unsustainable agriculture, ranching, logging, mining and other destructive practices. The Nature Conservancy's mission is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. The Nature Conservancy uses a science-based approach to protect rainforests and other ecosystems, pursuing non-confrontational, pragmatic solutions to conservation challenges. A core component of The Nature Conservancy's conservation approach is its partnerships with indigenous communities, businesses, governments, multilateral institutions, other non-profits ... and people such as yourself.

Children's International Your click helped sponsor 1 child in need today. Come back tomorrow to click; log in to track your impact. Together we've provided 751 months of child sponsorship. With parents struggling to make ends meet on a few dollars a day, it is all too common for impoverished children to go to bed hungry. Their bare, calloused feet, dirt-caked faces and tattered clothes tell their story of struggle. For many, education is considered a luxury. Lacking such things as school supplies or uniforms can keep a poor child from attending school. Oftentimes, medical and dental care is unavailable or difficult to access, let alone afford. Simple ailments like diarrhea can be deadly when you are a poor child. Children International is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization dedicated to easing the burdens of poverty on poor children. Children International's child sponsorship solution provides health, educational and material aid to impoverished children around the world. One-to-one sponsorship gives these children the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and realize their full potential.

Good morning IIF & Wingnut from Tuxy and me. So far, 1,108,261 people have clicked 21,042,294 times to end breast cancer forever. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, has invested more than $1 billion since inception in 1982 and is working to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cure for breast cancer. When Susan G. Komen for the Cure was founded in 1982, the five-year survival rate was just 74 percent when breast cancer was diagnosed before it spread beyond the breast. Today, that survival rate is 98 percent. But the race to end breast cancer is far from over. We don't know what causes breast cancer, and we don't know how to prevent it. Ten million women around the world could die from breast cancer in the next 25 years. We are so close to creating a world without breast cancer, but we still have work to do. That's why we need you to click every day for the cure.

IIF- -You've changed your avatar! And I don't believe for a minute what it says. So far, 1,308,664 people have helped feed 19,518,827 pets in Humane Society shelters. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. All of these homeless animals need food, care and permanent loving homes. For more than a half-century, The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has stood as the nation's most important advocate for local humane societies. The HSUS and its partner, The Fund for Animals, provide sanctuary and direct care to thousands of creatures, big and small through the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Texas, two Wildlife Centers and a Rabbit Sanctuary. Additionally, through its affiliate Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, The HSUS provides no-cost veterinary care to dogs and cats in low-income communities around the world. In 2008, The HSUS provided more than 26,000 treatments valued at $1.2 million in free services.
