we've clicked 18,831,922 times to fund IFAW's (International Fund for Animal Welfare) seal hunt observers. Each year, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are slaughtered on the ice fields off Canada's east coast for their pelts. Over 95% of the seals killed during this hunt are just days or weeks old. From its founding, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has drawn international attention to the plight of the seal pups and successfully rallied worldwide condemnation of the hunt. Thanks to IFAW's continued vigilance, it is now illegal to hunt whitecoat seal pups for commercial purposes on the ice floes off Canada's east coast. This is a fragile victory, however, for Canada's commercial seal hunt persists. IFAW continues to document and expose abuses of the commercial hunt and press for an end to this cruel, unsustainable slaughter. Over the years, the small team of committed campaigners reaching out to help seals has grown to become the world's leading international animal welfare organization. IFAW begins its fourth decade of operation with more than 200 experienced campaigners, legal and political experts, and internationally acclaimed scientists working from offices in 17 countries around the world.

Good afternoon IIF & Wingnut from Tuxy and me. So far, 1,151,217 people have protected 48,197.3 acres of oceans. The problems facing the world's oceans can be solved, and Oceana's mission is to identify these practical solutions and make them happen. Oceana is an international organization committed to achieving measurable change by conducting specific, fact-based campaigns with fixed deadlines and articulated goals. Oceans cover 71 percent of the globe, and they are as important to us as they are vast. Yet our oceans are in grave trouble. 90% of the big marine predator fish are gone, all six species of sea turtle are listed as endangered or critically endangered, and populations of sharks and rays have been decimated worldwide. The time to save our oceans is now.

Good afternoon IIF & Wingnut from Tuxy and me. So far, 1,129,141 people have fed rescued primates 19,110,279 times The commercial hunting of bushmeat in central Africa could lead to the loss of several species, including chimpanzees and gorillas. The Jane Goodall Institute recognizes the immediate need to protect the victims of the illegal bushmeat trade - orphaned chimpanzees who are typically sold into the pet trade after watching their mothers being brutally killed. The Jane Goodall Institute advances the power of individuals to take informed and compassionate action to improve the environment for all living things. The goal of JGI's Africa programs is to ensure the long-term protection of wild ape populations and their habitat in natural host countries in Africa, while preserving biodiversity, cultural traditions and livelihoods. The Jane Goodall Institute has created three sanctuaries in Africa (Congo and Uganda) housing more than 200 orphaned chimpanzees in total. These sanctuaries provide a safe refuge where chimpanzees can be cared for and given the chance to live reasonably full lives in spacious conditions.

Good afternoon IIF & Wingnut from Tuxy and me.
So far, 1,059,020 people have offset 13,306,281 days of computer energy use through Carbonfund.org Global warming is one of the biggest threats facing our environment, human health and even national security. Global warming pollution from carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gasses caused by human activities is heating up our atmosphere, melting our polar ice caps, and threatening species like polar bears. A carbon offset represents a reduction in CO2 somewhere, like a wind farm in Texas or a reforestation project in Nicaragua, to balance out the carbon emissions from your activities, like computer use, that you cannot reduce.
Carbonfund.org is leading the fight against global warming, making it easy and affordable for any individual, business or organization to eliminate their climate impact and hastening the transformation to a clean energy future. Carbonfund.org works with over 1,200 businesses and 450,000 individuals to reduce their carbon footprint and solve climate change through education, carbon offsets and reductions, and public outreach.
