Have people gone completely crazy! I'm about getting to the place that I'm going to grow all my veggies and stop eating beef, maybe even give up meat altogether, if this crap catches on!!!
NaturalNews) I'm not sure which is the more offensive way to create meat. There's the current "factory farm" method where masses of hormone-jacked, antibiotics-injected cows are kept confined in what can only be called bovine concentration camps while they're fed genetically modified corn, then slaughtered without compassion and subjected to diabolical meat-harvesting machinery that turns a cow carcass into corporate profits. On the other hand, there's the new method being touted across the media: Test tube hamburgers made from thin strips of meat grown in a nutrient vat laced with bovine fetus stem cells. Yumm!
The test tube meat strips actually pulsate and twitch during their laboratory growth phase, by the way, and they're ultimately ground up with strips of test tube fat grown in a similar way to produce a fatty hamburger-like substance. This has been accomplished by Professor Mark Post of Maastricht University in the Netherlands, who announced his team's results at the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) yesterday.

Here's another goody!
(NaturalNews) Most of the genetically-modified (GM) corn products forced on American consumers today are hidden in processed foods in the form of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), corn oil, corn starch, and various other corn-based additives. But soon to be available at a Walmart near you is Monsanto's Bt sweet corn, the agri-giant's first ever GM corn product made available to consumers as whole ears right on the cob in the produce section-- and like with all other GMOs, neither Walmart nor Monsanto has any intention of labeling this new "Frankencorn."

I'm more akin to a health food nut and I find this very disturbing! I'm going to the Amish store and buy my meat from there. I already buy eggs from a man that gets them from the Mennonites and they are so much more tasty and the yolks are brighter, almost an orange color.

We eat DNA, what difference does it make if we copy the DNA and eat it ?
There are 7 billion people on this planet, and it is growing, unless we plan to create more land mass to harvest food then there will be no other alternative to eating copied genes.
If we keep chopping down our forests to grow food we will choke to death, the population is not just growing it is living longer and longer, eventually we will have huge food shortages and starving people will eat copied genes without batting an eye lid.
Get real, go to Darfu and offer them some articial hamburgers, see how many ask if it was from daisy the cow.

Sorry, tosh, I don't find this appetizing at all. I think there are better ways of providing meat. You can have all the modified junk food you want. I will pass, thank you!

You are disturbed and millions of children in the 3rd world are eating flies.
Try and think of the bigger picture, its not all about you.

Besides who knows what eating this type of 'food' will do for/to a human body? I won't be taking any chances, willingly, anyway..

Not to sound cruel, but then let the modified food go there. Here in the USA there is no need for this. We still have choices, and this is not one that I won't. Look at the modified corn. We don't need that.

You can not think of a better way of providing meat for 7 billion people, that is why 9 million kids die under 5 every year.
The chemical difference is zero its all in the mind, do you not take prescription drugs because they are artifical, do you go out and get roots and herbs because you dont have the appetite for man made copies ?

Your way of thinking is what my mom use to say to me 'eat your food, starving people in Ethiopia would love to have it.' My reply was 'my eating this food will not help the Ethiopians, it will only make me fat.'

You are cruel, and your attitude contradicts just about every single ethical and moral principle preached by Jesus.
I have come to the inevitable conclusion the American culture does not understand the basic tenets of Christianity.

People are not trying to feed you anything, you are a privileged minority of 1.2 billion out of 7 billion, you have the freedom of choice, nearly 6 billion people can not afford to be as fussy as you. Jesus did not say on the sermon on the Mount, " Think only of yourself and screw everybody else ". I am not being condascending, more self righteous.

You can't lump me in the religious category, tosh. I have never claimed to be living a life of 'christian.' I have only claimed to believe in God and the Bible. No where will you find a post of mine that says I expect to go to heaven, have another chance at being resurrected, etc. In fact, you will find quite the opposite. So, either you wish to discuss this subject at hand and leave religious people out of it, or we have nothing more to say..

Femme, I get tired of tosh, and others, always throwing religion into EVERY conversation. As if they are 'proving' something to themselves and others. Enough is enough. This conversation has absolutely nothing to do with religion or even being kind to starving people. It is concerning what others are trying to pass off as food. And safe food at that.
