Hmm ... What did I like about Breaking Dawn (and the other Twilight movies)??
I'm not sure there's a good answer. I enjoy the "bubble gum" aspect, they are simple movies which take me out of my own head. I'm not a fan of serious movies that are thought provoking. I like to be entertained and Twilight does that.
Oh, and my sister and I also tend to mock the movies, which is also great fun! ;D

"I saw Descendants with George Clooney yesterday."
^I have heard it's Oscar worthy. I want to see "We Bought A Zoo" with Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannsen. Not typically something I would want to see, but it sounds interesting and I adore Matt Damon. I would like to see a review here of "New Year's Eve." Anyone seen it yet?

How about "The Debt," good or not?

The Debt was AWESOME. It's a drama, some say it's slow, but I thought it was GREAT!
Also for a foreign film, WARTIME IN WINTER! GREAT FILM!
(remember I'm jaded since I've worked in the biz for 30 yrs)

I saw the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo -- very good! And very violent. I wish I could erase about 5 minutes of the movie from my brain.... I highly recommend it, but it's really violent. (You have been warned).

Did you see the original sweedish trilogy, or the new one?"
I saw the three original sweedish ones, the trilogy, they're awesome!

The new one Roy (just came out on Wednesday).
I've heard amazing things about the original trilogy. I think my sister and I are going to have to get a copy one of these days!

I've heard that the Larsson books are filled with sexual sadism which is, seriously, not my cup of tea. Apparently, some of that has made it's way into the movie.
I saw New Year's Eve last night. It was pretty bad. There were lots of stars and the setting in Times Square was appealing but the dialogue sucked. Garry Marshall should have spent a buck on a joke writer.

I saw My Week With Marilyn this afternoon. No one will ever fully inhabit Marilyn, imo, but Michelle Williams is not terrible. She might get an Oscar nod according to the reviews that I read. The sets and costumes and supporting players were all wonderful but the story was thin. I don't think it was worth a full frice ticket.

Yep the Dragon Tattoo series is fairly graphic. But still well done.
I heard New Years Eve was bad, thanks for confirming.
We saw "War Horse" Awesome but sad.

Someone at a party the other night said that any movie with an animal in it probably has a sad ending so he avoids them like the plague. I'll probably see it.

Sad but very well done, heck, it's a Spielberg film. He doesn't push his crews, they take the time to do it right, and well, it's Spielberg! ;D

I saw Warhorse. The ending isn't sad regarding the horse. But for some people it is. The movie moves along briskly without dwelling on any single part to drag out emotion. Spielberg did a good job as expected.

Moonie, MI4 is getting really great reviews. Maybe Cruise is getting his mojo back.
I caught Dolphin Tale the other night. It's not brand new but it's a really good family film. It made me want to go snorkeling in the Caribbean.

Oh goodness. I saw MI:4 last night and thought it was terrible. Tom Cruise was just trying to prove that he's still "young". Um ... nope, not so much anymore (that scene with his shirt off -- ick!)
I would rather have been home sleeping....
DD and I are going to see Sherlock Holmes this week, keeping my fingers crossed for a good flick!

Oh, no, Tom Cruise takes his shirt off? He is getting a tad long in the tooth for that. But in ...va va va voom!!
The previous Sherlock movie didn't keep my attention but I didn't see it in a theater, either. The new one's on my list to see but not near the top. Good luck.

No Sherlock Holmes for me -- DD "ditched" me to hang with her friends and I'm busy for the next few days before she goes back to school this weekend. But the Stephanie Plum movie opens soon! My sister and I are going to see it!
