Tonight - partly to mostly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms in the evening. Humid. Low around 70ºF. winds SW @ 5-10 mph, chance of rain 50%. Hot and like the rest of the country, we need rain.
Today's Headlines of Interest. 1. Murdoch aides tried to blunt phone-hacking scandal. Rupert and James Murdoch scheduled to face British Parliament Tuesday. News Corp. executives pursued strategies for years of obscuring the extent of wrongdoing. a. News of the World whistleblower found dead but the journalist's death is not being treated as suspicious.
2. Debt talks stalemate already hurting the economy. Failure so far to reach a deal spooks consumers, businesses, investors.
3. How hot is it? Roads on bridges buckling in Oklahoma. Poultry farmers deploy fans and water roofs; heat wave to reach East Coast later this week.
4. Gunmen storm posh Rio hotel; foreigners among those robbed. Incident is reminder of nation's lingering security problems ahead of World Cup, Olympics.
