I'm very impressed with everyone's discipline! My biggest shortcoming at the moment is keeping healthy food in the house. I hate grocery shopping. I did a good job this week so I'm concentrating on making sure that healthy, appealing food is always available.

Sus, have you ever considered ordering by phone or Internet and having it delivered? That is if there are outfits there that do such a thing.

II, in the late '90's, there was a business called PeaPod that took orders over the 'net and delivered the food and put it in the freezer or fridge if you weren't home. I don't remember whether or not they had fresh produce or fruit, though. I used them for several months when I was working really long hours and it worked out okay. Unfortunately, it went out of business.
Peg uses the company that beags' husband works for and is pretty satisfied with them. Their stuff is all frozen.
Nowadays, I hear that you can buy anything on Amazon from mustard to kitty litter. The downside is the delivery charge, I think. I seriously considered ordering my kitty litter from there when I was having so much trouble with my back but I never followed through. Now, my back's better but my last box of kitty litter is still in the back of my car. I keep thinking that I'll drop it off at the shelter but I haven't.
My worst problem is with big stores. They overwhelm me. We have a small market in the neighborhood that has higher prices than Kroger but their stuff is good. That's where I shopped this week. I just need to bite the bullet and pay the price for the healthy food.
Lol, I answered the heck out of that question, didn't I?

Well Sus, forgot where you live. Kitty litter makes pretty good traction in the winter if you happen to get stuck in a ditch.
It's not easy to afford to eat healthy. I don't get that. It would seem to me that one can produce fruit and veggies cheaper than one could some processed thing in a plant.
and lastly, there's nothing wrong with leaving a long answer to something. lol

Can't believe I missed all the good talk on this thread. Sugi - I LOVE your tagline! "What is, is. And it's your resistance to what is that causes your suffering." Well, I have a new gadget in my fitness tools - it's called a "fitbit." www.fitbit.com . It's a very clever little gadget that tracks all my movements, calculates calories, syncs itself to my computer, etc. I've been tinkering with it today and so far so good. The only problem is that I didn't get anywhere close to my 10,000 steps. I'm hoping my new toy motivates me to stay on track. Will keep you all posted!

Well, I figure it's cheaper than several months of Weight Watchers or a gym membership.

How does it do that? That's some gadget.
LOL love the desperate comment. My motivation . . family history and stress. P90X is a great stress reliever. Diabetes and high blood pressure run in the family. No, wait, it's low blood pressure. No, it depends on what side of the family I take after. So far it's the low blood pressure. It usually registers just above dead. lol Ok, that's an exaggeration, but I think you get it.
If I ever get a pacemaker it won't be to slow down the heart, it will be to speed it up. lol

I think you may have mentioned this, but did you get back into P90X? I'm starting back to "classic" tomorrow (for about the 5th time). I did very well until my sister's wedding (lost 13 pounds) but lost most of my motivation after.

Here's what fitbit.com says about the sleep tracking:
"When you get into bed, you slide the Fitbit Tracker onto a wristband that is provided with the Tracker. As you fall in and out of sleep, the Fitbit tracks the movements that your body makes and can tell you how long it took you to fall asleep, how many times you woke up throughout the night and the actual time you were asleep vs the time you were in bed."

actually sfm, I'm working two jobs now.
I finally got the schedule down, or I should say my system finally is use to it. So now I can start P90X up again.
If I don't, I'll be in rough shape . . it was the only thing that relieved the stress. Let me tell you, I'm under a lot of it lately. When I get stressed, one of three things happen . . I get depressed, I eat, or I exercise. Well the depression comes anyway, and when I get out of it, the other two come.
I'm done with the depression, and that means I'm either going to eat or exercise. being as I practically cleaned my entire house today, I think it's the exercise that won today. I don't want the eating to win because then I'll be right back where I started. So starting up P90X tomorrow again.
